Dear Prospective Partner/Sponsor/Vendor,
It was estimated that 88,970 people would receive a primary brain tumor diagnosis by the end of 2022. Brain tumors are now the leading cause of cancer death in children less than age 20. They are also the second leading cause of cancer death in females under 20 and male adults up to age 39. Today it is estimated that 700,000 Americans living with a primary brain tumor. Despite new legislation and incremental advances in treatment options, there is still more work to be done.
The Mary E. Smith (M.O.M) Foundation, Inc./Memories of Mary is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to the memory of Mary Elizabeth Smith. Since our incorporation in 2008, the organization has been committed to winning the fight against brain tumors. The foundation is active in the community and has donated over $100,000 to the cause. Our support includes awarding medical screening awards to assist with the cost of MRI’s and CT scans. Providing funds to support the education of survivors and/or their immediate family members. As well as giving financial assistance to our future leaders in Neurology and Oncology.
In 2023 we have 2 flagship sponsor opportunities during brain tumor awareness month. Sponsorships will help us to commemorate the milestone achievement of reaching 15 years as a charity during our celebration weekend. On Saturday May 20th we will host our Annual Mary E. Smith Brain Tumor 5K Walk in Country Club Hills, IL. On Sunday May 21st we will host our Annual Shoesational Scholarship Gala & Auction at Fashion Bar Chicago in the Water Tower. Both events will acknowledge our award recipients, honorees, brain tumor survivors and the memory of Mary E. Smith the charity namesake.
