This is a community awareness event and a special opportunity to announce our 2022 scholarship winners & honorees. We will celebrate a survivors journey with Billi Ewing. Billie is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and champions her work through Billi's BElievers - From Tumor to Triumph as a brain tumor advocate from Dayton, OH.
Today there are over 700,000 Americans living with a primary brain tumor. Of these, more than 13,000 are children. Despite new legislation and major breakthroughs in treatment options, these figures are projected to increase this year.The Mary E. Smith (M.O.M) Foundation, Inc./ Memories of Mary is a nonprofit charity organization (26--2297602) founded in 2008. The foundation is dedicated to the memory of Mary Elizabeth Smith and operates in accordance to the following Mission:
To provide the resources to assist in the early detection and prevention of brain tumors; to support education and research in the neurosciences through scholarships; to award grants to health care organizations; to provide financial assistance for brain tumor screenings for underserved families; to promote healthy living and lifestyles through health awareness; to conduct and/or support community programs dedicated to the improvement of health, wellness and overall quality of life.
The Mary E Smith Foundation was established to help win the fight against brain tumors. Our Vision is to one day live in a world in which brain tumors do not exist… period.
